First, there are more techniques covered here than I have seen in any other single volume. The book starts with an introduction to the history of beadwork and the tools and materials that are used. Next, each technique is introduced separately. The stitches are followed by a collection of projects so you can practice the skills. I found the step-by-step instructions and photos easy to follow. The projects are elegant and timeless. In addition, there are blank graphs so that a beader can copy them and make his or her own designs. The projects can be achieved fairly quickly, plus there are photos of inspirational gallery work. I've been beading for quite some time, but I got this book because it is an excellent reference for the techniques and because the projects are lovely.
This is the book I would get a new beader over all others! In addition, I recommend it as an excellent addition to the libary of any experienced beader.
